The Alumni & Friends Association (AFA) can trace its origins to the end of the 2012 Alumni Retreat, when Br Jason proposed to the group that we take on the responsibility of planning and running the retreats ourselves. The response was extremely enthusiastic. We love CSU and we want the Brothers to be able to focus on it as their primary ministry.
Goals
The current concept for the AFA (which continues to evolve) is twofold:
We will be in charge of planning and running the biannual Alumni Retreat.
Maintain a Facebook Group for alumni to stay in touch, find other alumni in their area, and generally stay connected with one another and keep their zeal alive.
Leadership
The AFA board is primarily responsible for meeting the aforementioned goals. The board consists of a President, Vice President (President-Elect), Secretary, and Treasurer who are elected at each biannual AFA Retreat. A member of the CSU staff also sits on the board.
Retreat
We have a biannual Alumni and Friends Retreat on Memorial Day Weekend of even-numbered years. This is a time to catch up with fellow alumni and the Brothers, as well as a time of spiritual renewal. Our next retreat is May 25-27, 2018 at The Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Tallahassee, FL. More information is available on the Retreat tab on the sidebar.
