The Executive Board (E-Board for short) consists of these student leaders that help create and plan ideas to keep the Catholic Student Union thriving with life!
My name is Jake Weldon and I am serving as the President of the Catholic Student Union this academic year. I am a senior at Florida State studying in the school of business and I was born and raised on the west side of the Diocese in Pensacola.
The people, culture, and mission of the Catholic Student Union have given me my fondest memories, my dearest friends, and my entirely new life found in my conversion to the Catholic Church. This community has revealed me to myself and I am honored to give it back.
Hi my name is Ruth Nosacka and I am serving as the Vice President of the Catholic Student Union. I am in my fifth year of college, double majoring in Voice and Finance. I transferred to Florida State in 2019 from Loyola University in New Orleans. Transferring schools was one of the best decisions I have ever made because Florida State is where I have made the friends I will have forever. I am so thankful for the Catholic Student Union because that is where I have made these friends.
I am very outgoing and I love to being around people. I am most frequently found at Chick-fil-A (the OG one), running on campus, or studying at Lucky Goat. I am the fifth child in my family of seven kids. I was raised in a very Catholic family and have attended church on Sunday’s all my life. It wasn’t until coming to Florida State that I decided to choose my faith as my own.
The Catholic Student Union welcomed me with open arms and is a place I am so proud to call home. This is why I am so eager to be the Vice President this year and to serve this community at a greater capacity. I hope to welcome people into this community so that everyone can find their place and feel welcome.
Hey y'all! My name is Lola Martin and I’m super stoked to serve as Secretary of the Catholic Student Union this year. I'm originally from the Diocese of St. Augustine in Jacksonville, and now I'm a junior at Florida State studying Advertising. Some fun facts about me - I'm Taylor Swift's biggest fan (don't fight me on this), I'm an avid fan of mint chocolate chip ice cream (bonus points if it's dairy-free), I have two tattoos and counting, and St. John Paul II is my saint bff.
Now for the good stuff: I'm excited to serve as Secretary because this community is one of the biggest gifts I've received. I had my initial conversion and encounter with Jesus at a Steubenville conference in Orlando in 2015, and after that, I just knew my heart for the Lord and for ministry could be expanded to much greater depths. So praise God, I found CSU my freshman year! It's here where I've grown in deeper intimacy with the Lord, much deeper than I could've ever imagined. It's here where I've encountered profound healing and freedom through the very face of God and through intentional relationships with my brothers and sisters. And now I'm finally able to help lead the people of this beautiful community to receive the same Love that I've been so freely and graciously given here.
When I'm not hanging out with my roommates at the women's household, you can find me behind the bar making craft coffee drinks at La Florída (the best local coffee shop in all of Tallahassee). As always, go Noles!!
Hello!! My name is Kara and I am a senior at FSU! I am studying Communication Science and Disorders with the hopes of becoming a speech language pathologist. I was born and raised in the great state of North Carolina, came to Florida for college, and have absolutely loved it ever since. You can normally find me at the coffee shop I work at, the St. Thomas More social hall, or the nearest Krispy Kreme!
I took a big leap of faith by coming to Florida State, not knowing anyone, which was a huge deal for me. I didn’t know where to turn to meet people, and didn’t even know that I had such a need for community. Through God’s grace (and the help of the Catholic Noles’ Instagram) I found out about CSU. I went on freshman retreat and immediately felt at home. Surrounding myself with these people from the beginning was a gift I will always be extremely grateful for.
Through my three years here at CSU, the Lord has taught me more than I can imagine and has shown me what it means to live life in full community with people striving for holiness. I hope for this to continue to be a place of rest and growth for everyone that encounters it!
Hi all, my name is Jack Trent, I’m a sophomore at FSU and I’ll be serving as CSU’s 2021-2022 Historian.
I am passionate about being behind the camera whether I’m taking photos for CSU or doing my own freelance videography - I am infatuated with the visual medium!
Above my love for this particular trade though, is my love for Christ and His Catholic Church. By the Grace of God, I hope to take my skills and passion to further the Kingdom of God on Earth and ultimately in Heaven.
St. Thomas More, pray for us.
My name is AJ Miguel. My first and middle names shall remain to you a mystery. I am an incoming third-year studying international affairs. I’ve been to all fifty states and twenty-two countries, though I’ve always lived here in Florida, first in Tampa, now here in Tallahassee. The son of two FSU alums from Tampa, I have followed a noble family tradition by coming here. CSU has been a great community and has been such a blessing from the Lord. Since attending school here I’ve had the privilege of going to daily Mass frequently, and have met so many amazing students.
