Sophie Bursey was born and raised in the legendary West St. Paul, Minnesota (if you
need more context, watch this
video). Her friends often affectionately refer to her as Zosia, the polish translation of Sophia. She is the second oldest of six kids in her family. Sophie loves being a sister to her five siblings, but also is an incredible sister to anyone who needs one.
Before coming to serve at FSU, Sophie graduated from the University of Minnesota (go Gophs), where she majored in Economics and minored in Public Health. Sophie grew up Catholic, but deepened her faith during her time at the U of M. She was involved with SPO, serving as part of the Outreach Corps on campus. Sophie loved getting to serve her peers through O-Corps and is excited (some may even say too eager) to be at Florida State as a missionary this year.
Sophie is passionate about women knowing the joy, love, and dignity that comes with knowing their identity as a daughter of God. In her free time, Sophie loves a good game of Spikeball, learning how to skateboard, and spending time with friends. You can often find her drinking a cup of coffee or eating a meal paired with Cholula. Sophie would love to meet you, so if you see her around say hey!
