“As each one had received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace."
-1 Peter 4:10
The Catholic Student Union provide the opportunity to share your faith through service! Service is a way to strengthening your faith by working with your brothers and sisters to love those in the local Tallahassee community and beyond. Faith in action is love! We try to follow the example of Jesus, the greatest lover and servant of all.
How do we serve?
We work with a variety of local Tallahassee community outreach organizations that address issues of homelessness, hunger, poverty, education, environmental sustainability, Respect Life, youth services, and disaster relief. Agencies that we have previously served with include the Renaissance Community Center, Catholic Charities, Second Harvest of the Big Bend, The Sharing Tree, Fuller House Center, and many more!!! During our spring break, CSU Service travels outside of Tallahassee to serve those lowly and needy on an alternative spring break. Prior life-changing Spring Break Service Trips include serving in the mountains of Tennessee with Mt. TOP Ministries, in the bayou of Louisiana with Operation Nehemiah, on the Jersey Shore with the NJ Bucket Brigade, and in the urban sprawls of New York with the Missionaries of Charity and the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal!
When do we serve?
Service opportunities are typically on weekends where we will serve in the local Tallahassee community and spend a few hours of our day. If you are interested in service opportunities at other times, please contact your Service Chairs about how you would like to serve and they will connect you to the group that fits your interests. Don't forget about the AWESOME annual Spring Break Service Trip where we all experience the love and joy of service! An incredible opportunity that you CANNOT miss!
